The brilliant colours are from light being refracted within the crystal layer, a feature which has led to the New Zealand Abalone - Paua shell's immense popularity for use in jewellery.

Special technology has enabled us to produce this product with a ceramic tile base, coupled with an ultra violet resistant coating which enhances the natural shell.
